National interest are incompatible

What is national interest? incompatible?

National interest can be defined as a normative and descriptive purpose that country pursue through it leadership in conduct of foreign relation that can give benefit to it citizen either public or private. National interest refer to wants, need, desires and claims of the state in international affairs. Descriptive purpose refer to what is ought to be and it is real and achievable where state has to deal. meanwhile, normative purpose might come out in a mind or might state in paper. In other word it might not come out in reality. If state aim to achieve the normative purpose therefore the discriptive purpose will not come. State for some time might reject this purpose.

Because they are so many interest, state cannot afford to achieve its all at the same time.If some interests are served thus the other interests must wait and stand. This is because some interest are very important while some interest are less important. However, all the interest must be achieve. As a result, policy maker decided to put the interest according to hierarchy  order to see the priority. Those hierarchy can be classified into three which are core interest, middle range interest and long range interest
